Posted by leavittk on January 15, 2012

Check it out at:  http://www.youtube.com/user/teamcombatusa/

We only have one video posted at this time.  In the future we hope to have videos of Competitions, "how tos", technique of the month, or what not!     Our Curriculum videos will also be hosted by YouTube in the future, but will only be available to approved Team Combat Members to view!

Please send your submissions (no pun intended, seriously) to info@teamcombatusa.com.  We will quickly review them and load them up for all to view!

European Open IBJJF Championship

Posted by leavittk on December 26, 2011

capa_euro2012.jpgTeam Combat will be sending a Team to compete in the European Open IBJJF Championship in Lisbon, Portugual between 26-29 January 2012.

Please visit the IBJJF website and pay close attention to the instructions as there have been many changes from previous years.

Most important, you will need to register under a team.  We have registered with the IBJJF as "Team Combat USA".   Choose "Tobias Vogt" as your head instructor and Black Belt.

Make sure you register in the correct weight class as well.  Keep in mind your weight must include your Kimono or Gi as well.  If you may not make weight at the lower weight class, then don't choose it as you will be disqualified if you do not make weight the day of the tournament.

Also, if you are a Black or Brown Belt, you will need to be registered as an individual member with the IBJJF.  Contact Kevin Leavitt if you need help with this @ kevin.leavitt@africom.mil.   White, Blue, and Purple Belts DO NOT need to register as individual members under IBJJF, they only need to sign up under an affliated school.  Again, if you have problems with this, contact Kevin.

So, far we have five individuals going out of the Stuttgart area, there are several other people from other Military Installations and teams that we will join up with.

White Belts will start on THURSDAY this year as well as Blue Belts on THURSDAY Afternoon.  Blue Belts will finish up on FRIDAY and Purple Belts will start on FRIDAY.  Brown and Black will be on SATURDAY and SUNDAY.  So, plan accordingly.

If you need advice on getting to Lisbon, Hotels, and getting around contact me (Kevin) as well.  I have been to this Tournament several times before.  Lisbon is a great City and easy to get around without a rental car.
